A proposed nutrition project aimed at reducing child malnutrition and stunting in Eastern Visayas has moved one step closer to approval.

During its Second Quarter 2026 Meeting on 26 May 2026, the RDC VIII–Social Development Committee endorsed the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP) CONNECT for consideration by the RDC VIII Full Council on 25 June 2026.

Building on the gains of the existing PMNP, the proposed project seeks to expand nutrition interventions, strengthen local nutrition governance, and improve the delivery of health and nutrition services for women and children across the region.

The proposal was presented by the Department of Health (DOH) VIII, headed by Regional Director Exuperia B. Sabalberino. If approved by the Full Council, PMNP CONNECT will be elevated to the Economy and Development Council for further consideration.
