The chairs and members of various working committees of the 16th Philippine National Health Research System (PNHRS) Week Celebration from the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) and Eastern Visayas Health Research and Development Consortium (EVHRDC), gathered at Summit Hotel in Tacloban City last April 28, to prepare for the upcoming PNHRS week celebration scheduled on August 8-11, 2023.

The celebration is an annual event that brings together health researchers, policy-makers, and stakeholders, to share their research findings and discuss innovative solutions to pressing health challenges in the Philippines. This conference aims to promote evidence-based decision-making, improve health outcomes, and strengthen health research in the country.

Dr. Exuperia B. Sabalberino, Chair of EVHRDC’s Executive Committee (EXECOM) and DOH Regional Director, presided over the meeting and expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to host the PNHRS conference in the Eastern Visayas region.

“We are excited to showcase our region’s contributions to health research, and learn from other regions’ experiences. We hope that this activity will inspire more researchers to pursue health research, and help improve health outcomes in the Philippines,” she shared.

Dr. Sabalberino noted the high energy level of the attendees and expressed her hope that this energy would be sustained until the PNHRS celebration.
