

To ensure consumer protection against hazardous health products, representatives of government agencies and other stakeholders led by the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) officials convened during the Consumer Protection Advocacy Forum held recently at Hotel Estrella in Tacloban City.
The advocacy forum primarily focused on FDA Licensing and Registration Requirements for Local Chief Executives and partner agencies in Eastern Visayas to avoid trade malpractice in the region.

With the unwavering intent of promoting, implementing, and utilizing health researches in the region, the Eastern Visayas Health Research and Development Consortium has lined-up various activities this coming June 2018.
First among the activities will be the Committee Chairs Meeting on June 1 wherein agenda includes but not limited to the deliberation of entries for the upcoming PNHRS 2018 and brainstorming for the consortium poster; while on June 8, the Ethics Review Committee (ERC) will hold its 2nd quarter meeting.

Determined to solve the Philippine health problems through health researches and developmental interventions, the Eastern Visayas Health Research and Development Consortium (EVHRDC) has recently conducted an institutional visit to the Eastern Samar State University in Borongan, Eastern Samar (ESSU) on May 16, 2018.

Participated in by officers and staff of the university as well as representatives from different government institutions, the one-day activity has focused on the call to submit research proposals not only from the said academic institution, but also from other groups or individuals who are health enthusiasts.

During the Children’s Congress on School Resiliency held recently at the Oriental Hotel in Palo, Leyte, school children talk on their vision for the future, and likewise emphasized their basic rights particularly the right to education, health care, safety and other basic needs.
The event was spearheaded by Save the Children Philippines in coordination with the Department of Education, Department of Social Welfare and Development and the Department of Interior and Local Government.
