
Tacloban City, Leyte - The Eastern Visayas Health Research and Development Consortium (EVHRDC) held its Second Quarter Executive Committee (ExeCom) Meeting along with the Committee Chairs, for the first time in 2018, at The Loft Hotel Function Hall, Marasbaras, Tacloban City last April 17, 2018 where some of the agenda were the approval of the EVHRDC Manual of Operations, the composition of TRB, the Assessment and Evaluation Tools for members and member institutions crafted by SOMEC, and the proposed Cash Award for the Outstanding Health Research & Development Institution.

Tacloban City, Leyte - With the continuous aim for excellence, the Eastern Visayas Health Research and Development Consortium (EVHRDC) champions other regions by garnering the most website views as disclosed in the RHRDC Sites Report as of March 2018.
Looking back to the year-end sites report for CY 2017, the EVHRDC website had been one of the six (6) regions who were awarded as the most active websites.

Maydolong, Eastern Samar - The Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) – Eastern Samar Chapter spearheaded an Operation Tuli activity and conducted the oath taking of its new set of officers today, 14th of April 2018 at the Municipal Health Office of Maydolong.


The PNA Chapter organized the Operation Tuli activity, in collaboration with LGU- Maydolong, as a reflection of its commitment of delivering health services to communities. The activity was witnessed by the PNA Region-8 Governor Mr. Niño Archie S. Labordo who led other participating nurses on health education emphasizing personal hygiene among the 33 children, ranging from 7-12 years of age, who submitted for circumcision. The health education session was likewise extended to parents and guardians who gave consent for the procedure.

Tacloban City, Leyte - Majority of its member-institutions have attended the 2nd Quarter meeting of the Research Information Council (RIC) of Eastern Visayas Health Research and Development Consortium (EVHRDC) held on April 6, 2018 at the DOST-8 Conference room, Candahug, Palo, Leyte.
Presided by its chair, Mr.Willard N. Riveral of Naval State University (NSU), the council deliberated on matters such as the EVHRDC website management and improvement, finalization of plans for the institutional visit in ESSU, and the Capacity building for researchers and potential consultants. Likewise, the council initiated the clustering and assignment of the different member-institutions to the council members to efficiently collect pertinent information on their health-related activities which will then be uploaded to the consortium’s website.
