CALL FOR PROPOSALS 2017 Collaborative Research and Development to Leverage Philippine Economy (CRADLE)

I. Introduction

With increasing economic and global competition and putting the ASEAN integration in perspective, it is imperative for the Philippines to implement initiatives that will improve the innovation system to leverage economic progress. Collaboration between private companies and the academe is an emerging strategy for knowledge exchange, and production and utilization of new technologies that is yet to be maximized.

Through the Collaborative Research and Development to Leverage Philippine Economy (CRADLE), the DOST will help create a synergistic relationship between the academe and the industry with the goal of invigorating Philippine R&D. Under the CRADLE Program, the private sector industry will identify the problem; and the High Education Institution (HEI) or Development Institution (RDI) will undertake the research and development. CRADLE funding will only be given to the HEI or RDI.
